MY DONKEY KONG COUNTRY HISTORY
DONKEY KONG COUNTRY
My first time playing a Donkey Kong game was DONKEY KONG COUNTRY that came out in 1994. The first time I played DONKEY KONG COUNTRY it took around 2 or 3 months due to the later boards.
Kongo Jungle
The first area was easy it really was not that difficult when I first played it, all I did died a couple of time Kremlings.
Monkey Mines
First time I played this area I died plenty times. Mine Cart Carnage took a long time, this board is Donkey and Diddy are in a cart, I hit every cart, I fell off the cliff multiplying time and hit Krash all the times. Millstone Mayhem was another hard one because Gnawty was inside a wheel going up and down and forward.
Vine Valley
The first time I played this area, I died on every level Temple Tempest was the only one that gave me a hard time Gnawty was on a wheel chasing Donkey and Diddy this time, when it was chasing me sometimes, I would jump lower and get caught by Gnawty and sometimes I would fall into a pit by going too fast.
Gorilla Glacier
The first time I played this area I died on every level, the mail levels that gave me a hard time was Snow Barrel Blast was one of the hardest because I had to time the barrels when they were going back and forth and the barrels that were rotating around. When I miss the barrels, I would get mad and sometimes get upset when I became close to the end. Croctopus Chase gave me a tough time because the Croctopus was chasing Donkey and Diddy. Sometimes when I swim slowly, I die by the Croctopus.
Kremkoc Industries Inc
This area was one of the hardest I ever played Drum Alley gave me a tough time it was about timing on this level and watching out for Mankey Kong throwing barrels and the oil drum fire going up and down. Trick Track Trek was another one, all this board was to just stay on the moving track and not getting hit by random enemies.
Chimp Caverns
The first time I played in this area I was getting a game over on every board. The main level that gave me the most trouble was Tanked up Trouble, I had to keep on the tank and jump on the fuel boxes that had + on it and avoid the ones that had – on it. Loopy Lights gave me a tough time, this level had the lights going out and I had to Jump on the barrels to turn back on to beat the level. Platform Perils was another one, I had to jump on the plates that had up, down, and forward on them, unless I did not have Donkey Kong at the end I would die.
Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy Kong Quest
Donkey Kong Country 2 came out in 1995. Many fans considered this the best DKC game out of all 3.
Gangplank Galleon
This area was easy, none of these levels gave me a tough time. I just remember dying on the few times on the area.
Crocodile Cauldron
When I first played in this area, only Red-Hot Ride gave me a tough time. This level is about riding a stifling air balloon and watching out for enimes like Neek, Bees, and Krelemings.
Krem Quay
The first time I played Rattle Battle I had to turn into Rattle himself I had to jump on Neeks Kremlins and click-clack. Rattly jumps high and when you hold A Rattly jump higher, sometimes when I played as him sometimes, I messed up by my jump and ended hitting the enemy. Slime Climb gave me a tough time there was a Snap Jaw following Diddy and Dixie going up a broken ship, I died plenty times on this board from going to slow and jump not high and getting hit by different enemies aside from Snap Jaw. Bramble Blast was another one that gave me a tough time, this level had barrels were rotate around the level and some going back and forth, most of the time died by hitting thrones going from the barrel to barrel.
Krazy Kremland
When I first played this area Mudhole Marsh was a level that gave me a challenging time due to Cat-O-Tails its cat that spin around throwing Diddy and Dixie around into different directions, when he caught me, I died at times. Rambi Rumble gave me a tough time, the whole entire level is full of honey on it. Honey was the main factor for me dying at this level. The second part was Rambi part was less hard I just had turned into Rambi and beat King Zing to the finish, The hard part of this area was just the obstacle where bees, neek, and were in the way.
Gloomy Gulch
The first time I played this area every level I died on, the main ones were Haunted Hall, where Diddy and Dixie are on a cart trying to stop from catch you, by hitting the green plush barrels it gives you more time; by hitting the red minus barrels it subtracts time from Kackle. Parrot Chute Panic gave me a tough time Diddy and Dixie has a purple squawk taking you down and I hit by mainly Zinger and Klampon on this level. Web Woods was another I had to turn into Squitter on the only thing that gave me trouble were the zinger everything else was easy to kill with his webs.
- Rool’s Keep
The time I played this area it gave me a tough time and died on every level. Windy Well is a level having wind blows upwards Diddy and Dixie, I had to time the wind when it became to the Zingers, Klingers, Kaboing, and Kutlass those four gave me the hardest time on this level. Castle Crush gave me a tough time. This level is just having the ground come up, the difficult part for me was having enemies like Kutlass, Spiny coming down from the top and have two Krook throwing their hooks at Diddy and Dixie. Chain Link Chamber was a hard one I had to climb up some chains and across them, there were only two enemies that gave me a hard time Klinger and Kannon, Klinger on was climbing and going up the chains and Kannon was bombing downwards so I had to take my time with him. Toxic Tower was the worst for me, the toxic on this level was going up and the first part is Diddy and Dixie turns into Rattly, I messed up on every enemy when I had to play as Rattly the jumps into enemies and jumps to high on low when I had to play as him. The second part where I had to play as Squawks was the easiest because all I had to do was just fly upwards and hit the enemies with acorns. The last part was Squitter, since the toxic is far away his part will be easy unless the enemies hit you.
The Flying Krock
Since there was only one level and one boss their area was hard. Screech Sprint was hard, and it took me awhile to pass it. The first part took me time, but I managed to pass it, all I had to do with Diddy and Dixie was to watch out for the thorns and to catch Cat O’ 9 tails. The last part was the hardest. Diddy and Dixie turn into Squawks and I had to race against Screech, this part took me ages to beat because unless you go the right direction and go the easy way that suits you, Squawks will die every time by the Zinger and Thorns.
Klubba Kiosk
Klubba is a guard that stops you from getting into five secret levels unless you have 15 Kiosk Coins. These levels took me months to pass, I was glad when I passed them.
Jungle Jinx
Out of five of them Jungle Jinx was the easiest, with the level all you doing is jumping on wheels and watching for enemies like Spiny, Kutlass, and Klomp.
Black Ice Battle
This level was hard because the ice that was on this level had been enemies close together, having to go down was the easy part by not knowing where the enemy made me die too many times.
Klobber Karnage
This level had all kinds of barrels on it, the barrels that rotated made me die by popping out too early and was late. The Klobbers did not really give me a tough time, I just had to jump on them.
Fiery Furnace
This level I died countess times because be the main problem were the barrels that had a time limit on them.
Animal Antics
This level was the hardest, you start as Rambi his part is the easy all I had to do is hold A and he run faster to get to the end. Enguarde part was easy I just had to do the same thing on Rambi but I just had to watch out for the enemies. Squitter part was also easy this time just but this time I just had to kill the enemies with his webs and built web to the end of that part. Squawks part was the hardest because the wind was making Squawks go the other way making sure I had to push the buttons opposite the way he fly and watch out for Zingers, and Flitters. The problem with dying in this part is the checkpoint is back at Squitter area making sure I had to live the nightmare over again. Rattly part was not that hard either, I just had to watch out for spikes.
Donkey Kong Country 3 Dixie Kong Double Trouble
This game came out in 1996, and this game is label as the worst of all the Donkey Kong Country series. I really do not have any special moments in this series so I will go along with it.
Lake Orangatanga
This area really did not give me a tough time.
Kremwood Forest
This first time I played in this area also did not give me a tough time.
Mekangs
When I first played this are I died in every level Demolition Drain-Pipe gave me a hard time. Dixie and Kiddy are in a cart, there are many obstacles I died by most by Buzz. Ripsaw Rage gave me a challenging time, it has a saw cutting a tree upwards trying to kill Dixie and Kiddy, I died many of times.
Cotton-Top Cave
This area never gave me a tough time, I died on all the levels, but it was not enough for me to get upset or mad.
K
The first time I played this area only Lemguin Gunge gave me a tough time there were only Lemguin coming towards Dixie and Kiddy, and I died plenty of times.
Razor Ridge
The first time I played in this area Kong-Fused Cliffs gave me a tough time. This level is a rope on fire, and I had to watch for all the enemies on this level while climbing.
Kaos Kore
The first time I played this area, Konveyor rope klash gave me a tough time, this level has a rope move Dixie and Kiddy fast towards the enemies, I mostly killed by Buzz. Lighting Look-Out the lighting kept on hitting me each time I tried to move.
Donkey Kong Country Bosses
The first boss I battled with was Very Gnawty, he was an easy boss, all I had to do was jump on his head.
Boss Necky is the Second boss was another easy enemy, I just had to jump on his head.
The third Boss Queen B was easy when I played this board, all I had to do was wait for the barrels to show up and then throw them at Queen B stinger.
The fourth boss was Really Gnawty, jumping higher this time but had to do the same thing as the first Gnawty boss.
The fifth boss was Dumb Drum was hard at the beginning but later became easy this boss drops different enemies out of his drum it good to have Donkey Kong during this boss.
The sixth boss was Master Necky Snr, he did the same thing as Necky but faster.
King K Rool was the hardest and most frustrating boss that I faced. The first part was easy, he just threw his crown on the ground, and I just had to jump on his head. I had to do this three times. The second part was the hardest bombs were dropping from the sky this part was making me mad each time I died from this. The last part was worse for me because King K Rool had high jump and low jump that kill me every time.
Boss Krow, there are two parts to him Krow will pick up his head from his nest and Diddy or Dixie have two hit him with them. The next part is when he knocks his head on the nest just waiting until an egg lands to hit him and defeat him.
The boss named Kleever is a sword boss that throws fireballs at Diddy and will chase Dixie or Diddy across the other side, when both or one Kong on the other side a bomb will drop, and I had to hit it to defeat him. This boss really did not give me a tough time when I first played it, but I did die a couple times for missing hitting Kleever.
Kudgel is the third boss, he jumps in the air trying to crush Diddy and Dixie, sometimes I did not jump at the right time, and he ended up stunning me causing me to get hit, sometimes I hit by his club. The next part had him jumping smaller, that part I died due to my late timing jumping when he landed.
The fourth boss, King Zing was a hard boss for me. This level starts with turning into squawks the first part was to hit King Zing in his stinger three times, the third time I hit his Zinger I died lot because when he gets hit King Zing follows squawks and pops out his stinger. The last part is where he turns into a small bee and follows squawks, I died on this part because I had to shoot out acorns at the bees and if you miss, he will recover and each time he goes faster.
The Boss Kreepy Krow was hard at the beginning, but I used to it, this boss having ghost mini-necky coming at Diddy and Dixie when the last non-ghost mini-necky shows up jump on him and a barrel will come and hit Kreepy Krow with it. The second step was climping up the ropes and watching out for falling eggs and the ones coming forward and backward. When I got to the next landed area basically, I had to do the same thing as the first step but more Mini-necky showed up this time, the last step was same thing with more Mini-necky showed up.
K Rool was the hardest boss out off all of them, because all of his bombs weren’t just regular bombs, The first part is him blowing out bombs at Diddy and Dixie, when he blows out a barrel jump on it and a bomb will pop out and throw at him three times. The second step I died many of times because spike bombs were coming out of his cannon, the spike bombs were floating in the air and once the third one was finishing barrel will come out and do the same thing throw the bomb back into his cannon. The last part is having bombs that can freeze you and go the opposite way. I did all the ways from messing up by K Rool from the last part.
The Boss Belcha was an easy boss, all I had to do was wait until he threw out a barrel, then crush it then a Knik-Knak shows up I had to hit it, and then throw it back inside him to beat Belcha.
Archi is the second boss, he gave me trouble because I had to climb the jump on some branches and pick up barrel, go down and wait until he finishes blowing out some needles that are inside his body. Archi does this about four times and gets faster every time.
The first time I played this area only Bobbing Barrel Brawl gave me a tough time I had to transform into Ellie I had to do more than suck the barrel and throw into the water, I died multiply times by the Nibbla.
Kaos Karnage is the third boss, he a machine going up and down and I had to hit. When Kaos helmet comes off his helmet starts firing off beams try to catch Dixie and Kiddy. The last part was just jumping on his head.
The boss Squirt was an easy boss, all I did was turn into Ellie and wait for him to stop squirt, then have Ellie throw bubbles at his two eyes, and I had to do this five times to defeat him.
The boss Bleak was not that difficult, I had to time his snowballs at Bleak, and he will throw his own at whoever you control off. Once his opening is exposed throw at him and will shake. Bleak will now throw giant snowballs at Dixie or Kiddy once he finishes hitting him again, rinse wash and repeat on him to defeat Bleak.
The boss Barbos was a hard one. The first step was to turn into Enguarde and I had to hit Lurchin two times aiming for Barbos opening area. The second step was to hit glowing eles that were following Enguarde this time I had to time them when they move to hit Enuarde. The last step was the hardest he was popping out spikes trying to kill them I had to survive six times and finally got lucky with defeating him.
The last boss Baron K. Roolenstein wasn’t a frustration he was simply hard for me to beat. The first step is Kaos is going to show up and I just had to hit him. The second step is when he comes out the curtain Roolenstein is going to talk to Dixie and Kiddy for a while and then he will use his controller to bring down two hand pulls one on the right and one on the left, I messed up a couple of times when I push it down the barrels broke on Roolenstein so I had to go on the other side and do the same thing. I had to wait until he passed me and hit him with the barrel behind him. The third step was having him bring four pulls down and I had to stay on a tiny floor while the other floor had electricity on the long floor. While the floor was electricity coming out, I had to jump on the other end to have barrel come on the other side to hit Roolenstein in the back. The last step was timing the electricity to have the barrel not hit the electricity if it does the barrel will break, I messed up plenty of times on this part, but finally was able to beat him.
The Kongs
Donkey Kong is the protagonist of the series and the main character of this game. Donkey Kong was not playable in 2 and 3, he was also the Grandson of Cranky Kong. Donkey Kong is a strong character but the downside to his character is he slower than Diddy.
Diddy Kong is the nephew of Donkey Kong, he became a fan favorite character as soon as the game came out and stars in few games as the main character. Diddy Kong is a faster character the only downside to his character he cannot kill big Kremlings and he can do cartwheels by stopping on their hand.
Cranky Kong is the grandfather of Donkey Kong and the original Donkey Kong from previous games. His role is just asking and telling you about the Island.
Funky Kong is friends with Donkey Kong, his role is to take Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong to various places around the map. Funky Kong became a popular Character in Mario Kart Wii where he became request in other Mario Kart Games that came out.
Candy Kong is Donkey Kong girlfriend; her role is to save the game in certain parts of the game.
Dixie is the girlfriend of Diddy Kong and a newcomer for DKC2 and she able the glid with her hair spinning.
Wrinkly Kong is a new Kong DKC2 in this game and took the previous role that Candy Kong had to save the game.
Swanky Kong is a new Kong in this DKC2. His role in this game is to ask questions and if you get them all correct, he will give you ballons.
Kiddy is a newcomer in DKC3; he is slower than Dixie but stronger than him and when Dixie has him on his back he can break a weak wooden area.
Animal Buddies
Each Animal Buddies had their own role they played in the game. Rambi is a Rino that can kill anything with his horn and stomp on them. Expresso is a bird that can go fast and fly in the air. Enguarde is a whale that can kill anything with his hilt. Squawks is a parrot that holds a flashlight in this game where a level that is dark, and his role change to cough out acorns in DKC2. Winky is a frog that jumps high and kill enemies by jumping on them.
Rattly is one of the new friends, he took the role of Winky by jumping high. Squitter is a new animal he a spider that builds webs to get to the other side and spits it out to kill enemies. Clapper is a new animal; his role is to turn water to ice and poison water to clean water. Glimmer is a new animal that took Squawks place with a flashlight.
Ellie is a newcomer; she took the place from Rambi. Ellie can suck in barrels and hit the enemies, and she can blow bubbles at the enmeies. Parry is a bird that just stays in the air and collects items.
Normal Bad Guys
Gnawty is a beaver he walks around in the game and he also in the wheels. Necky is an eagle that flies in the game. Army is an armadillo in the game he roles near you try to hit Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong. Zinger is a bee in the game. Slippa is a snake in the game. Mankey Kong is an Ape that throws barrels. Mini necky is a smaller eagle.
Neek is a mouse, Click-Clack is a bug, Spiny is a porcupine, Cat O’9 Tails is a spinning cat, Flitter is a flying bug, Mini-necky is a small bird, Zinger is a bee, and Screech is a brown parrot.
Sheek is a rat, Knik-Knak is a ladybug, Bristles is a porcupine, Nid is harmless spider that you can jump on to reach high areas, Lemguin is a penguin that sleds, and Minkey a monkey that throws nuts whenever climbs ropes.
Buzz is a bee, Swoopy is bird wait for you to come before he moves, Booty Bird is a fat bird that will spit out random things if Dixie or Kiddy hit it, Karbine is bird that holds a cannon that spits out fireballs.
Water Bad guys
Bitesize is a small fish that goes back in fourth. Croctopus is an Octopus that goes around in circle or try to catch you in water boards. Chomps Jr is a light blue shark, Chomps is a dark blue shark. Clambo is a clamp that opens his mouth and has bubbles come out. Squidge is a squid that goes bounce up towards Donkey and Diddy.
Flotsam is an eel, Shuri is a starfish, Puftup is a blowfish, Lockjaw is a red fish that snaps at Diddy and Dixie, Snapjaw is a pink fish that follows Diddy and Dixie and will snaps at them if you fall into the water.
Koco is just a fish, Lurchin is a shellfish with spikes that go up and down, Nibbla is a chomping fish, Bounty Bass is a big fat red fish, Bazza is a fish that goes through the openings, Gleamin Bream is a giant yellow fish.
Kremlings
Kritter is a small alligator. Klump is a big fat alligator. Krash is an alligator that is in a cart. Klaptrap is also a small alligator that jumps or jumps when Donkey or Diddy jumps. Rockkroc is a brown alligator that fast and go to sleep when Donkey or Diddy light off barrel. Krusha is a muscle alligator.
Klomp is an agitator that has one leg, and the other leg is a wooden stick. Klinger is an agitator that climbs and swing down ropes and chains, Kaboing is an agitator that has steel stomps that bounce, Klampon is an small agitator that smacks, Klobber in an agitator in a barrel that has four version a yellow one that takes banana, a black one that takes ballons, a red one that has TNT on it, and a green one that a regular one. Krook is an agitator that has metal boomerangs he throws when he sees Diddy or Dixie, Kutlass is a small agitator that has swords in his hands that will try to kill Diddy or Dixie if get to close to him. Kloak is an agitator that floats in the air, Kannon is an agitator that has a cannon on him. Kruncha is a muscle agitator that cannot get killed by jumping on him he glows red instead and walks faster. Klank is an agitator that on a cart throwing barrels behind try to kill Diddy or Dixie while on a merry go round. Kackle is a giant ghost agitator that will kill Diddy or Dixie if you mess up with hitting the red minus arrows or just miss the green ones. Klubba is an agitator that has a club that guards secret levels.
Kobble is a green agitator, Re-Koil is a agitator that bounce up and down, Knocka is an agitator in a barrel his hands are the only thing you see, Klasp is an agitator that in a TNT barrel, Krimp is small agitator that walks on four feet, Krumple is an muscle agitator, Kopter is an agitator that spinning in the air, Skidda is an agitator that is slipping on ice, Bazuka is a small agitatior that has a canon that pops out barrels, Kuchuka is an agitatior that in a barrel that throws out bombs, Koin is an agitator that has the DK coin on him, and Kuff N Klout is two agitators jumping around each other.
Brothers Bear
Bazaar, Barnacle, Brash, Blunder, Blue, Bazooka, Blizzard, Bramble, Benny and Bjorn, Barter, Baffle, and Boomer.
Music
Donkey Kong Country all the music that was done by Donkey Kong was by David Wise, there are 23 tracks on this game they are Opening Fanfare, Theme, Simian Segue, DK Island, Cranky’s Theme, Cave Dweller Concert, Bonus Room Blitz, Aquatic Ambiance, Candy’s Bad Boss Boogie, Mine Cart Madness, Life in the Mines, Voices of the Temple, Forest Frenzy, Treetop Rock, Funky’s Fuge, Misty Menace, Northern Hemispheres, Ice Cave Chant, Fear Factory, Gang-Plank Galleon, K. Bonus
The Bonus in Donkey Country collect bananas and get three golden animals. The Bonus games in Donkey Kong Country 2 had goals I had to achieve. The bonus areas called Find the coin, Collect the Stars, and Kill the enemies.
DK Coins
There are 25 DK coins in this game, it must be collected on every level, some are easy to get while others are hard to get.
Favorite Music
My favorite is Aquatic Ambiance is smooth and relaxing. My favorite Ost is Sitickerbrus Symphony it a nice and calm Ost I could listen to this one forever. Donkey Kong Country 3 doesn’t really have a favorite OST.
Graphics
The graphics in this game were great, when I look back at it seems like it was ahead of it time. For a game that came out in the 90’s most of the games that were around it didn’t have any of the graphics it had. The outward graphics seemed like they were colorful and not that bright to me, it was relaxing to my eyes.
DKC2 The graphics in this game were an improvement from the first Donkey Kong Country game, it seemed like it was more colorful and the shade was little darker.
DKC3 The graphics are better from the previous DK2 game, it seems a little bit darker than DK2.
